An International Festival at HSHS!
When: Friday, March 20, 2020
Time: 6:00-8:00pm
Where: In the Commons/Cafeteria
For the over 10 years I have been a part of a group students and teachers that has celebrated as many cultures as we can in 2 hours in the evening! This is something that I would love to continue in our community! This public event has grown from celebrating our individual cultures in an ESL classroom to an evening event with our community where we showcase our students' talents and knowledge including special guests! We have had dancing, singing, acting, poetry, Chines ribbon dancing, Japanese drums, Scottish bagpipes, and more on our "main stage"! In addition, there are many games and activities to do so that you can get a stamp in your passport while learning about the various countries! And of course food vendors! We've been fortunate to of have Coffee & Crepes coming out for many years and Nur's Kitchen Delights as well!
The Miranda Foster "Fall" Film Festival was started by a student at MCHS who had a love of Foreign Films. Traditionally it has been held for 3 days for our students the week of the festival. We watch international films after school and it is really interesting to see various cultures on film! This is something we'd like to do in the Fall!
If you'd like to get involved, please contact Sra Patana! Below is a contact form to fill out and submit so that we can create a wonderful program based on your talents!
